This project celebrates the friendship and musical connection between Marla and Rebecca that blossomed over the past few years. Mixing original and traditional tunes, we mark some recent losses that offset the many joys. We hope that what comes through is the playfulness found between these friends and our joy in making music together.
"...a mature series of musical journeys that conjure a range of human emotions, from a celebration of life to the remembrance of loved ones gone past.... with a sound and with an ensemble that reminds me of the intimacy of a small session at home with friends."
- Richard Gee, FolkWorks
“…absorbing and rewarding album…this duo plays new and old material with a lightness of touch and a togetherness which is a joy to hear.”
- Alex Monaghan, Irish Music Magazine

The Welcoming Table lives up to its name by being a collection of warm, fun, uplifting music that is meticulously put together. As Dirty Linen magazine said, “The arrangements emphasize melody and texture rather than blazing speed, with clever twists.” Many folks have told us they’ve listened to the album hundreds of times, which is what we were going for!
Noctambule
Marla’s duo with guitarist and husband Bruce Victor.
They have made four albums together…so far.
The excuse for Shalom Ireland was a documentary soundtrack, but it holds its own as a musical collaboration and exploration. experiment on its ownI. We combined the craic and the krekht, the hornpipe and the hora, and found a groove that combines the joy and heartbreak of the two genres. Also, it was mixed at Skywalker Sound, so those B pipes sound nice and rich!
